Troubleshooting: Controller Not Detected / Player 2 Can't Join

How to fix Player 2 controller issues in REANIMAL Local Co-op.

Initial Setup

  1. Connect both controllers to your PC/Console.
  2. Launch REANIMAL with Controller 1.
  3. On the Main Menu, press the Join Button on Controller 2 (e.g., A/Cross/Start).
  4. If Controller 2 does not respond, restart the game with both controllers connected.

Steam (PC) Fixes

  1. Steam Input: Go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings and ensure your controller type (Xbox/PS/Generic) is checked.
  2. Enable Steam Input for REANIMAL: Right-click REANIMAL in your library > Properties > Controller > Enable Steam Input.
  3. Big Picture Mode: Launch the game via Big Picture Mode to force controller recognition.

Common Issues

  • Generic Controllers: Use software like x360ce to emulate an Xbox controller if yours isn't recognized.
  • Wireless Connection: Bluetooth lag might cause dropped inputs. Use a wired connection.
