Local Co-op Guide

Everything about local (couch) co-op in REANIMAL: shared camera mechanics, split-screen details, and controller setup.

Does REANIMAL have Local Co-op?

Yes, REANIMAL fully supports Local Co-op (Couch Co-op). You can play the entire campaign with two players on a single screen.

How the "Shared Screen" Works

Unlike typical split-screen games, REANIMAL uses a Shared, Directed Camera.

  • No Split Screen: Both players share one cinematic view.
  • Tension: The camera is designed to claustrophobically frame the action. You cannot wander off too far from your partner.
  • Coordination: If one player lags behind, the camera might not scroll, forcing the leader to wait.

Controller Setup

  • PC: You can use two controllers (recommended) or Keyboard + Controller. Using two keyboards is generally not supported without specific software.
  • Consoles: Simply connect two controllers and sign in.

Common Local Co-op Issues

"Player 2 Can't Join"

  • Ensure the second controller is active before launching the game.
  • If on Steam, check your Steam Input settings.

"I keep running off-screen"

  • This is intentional design. The shared camera requires players to move as a unit.
  • Tip: Designate one player as the "Lead" for movement, and the other follows.
