Troubleshooting: Stuck on Connecting (Loading Screen)

How to fix infinite loading screens or freezing on 'Connecting' when joining REANIMAL Co-op.

Why am I stuck?

  • Host Disconnect: The host crashed or quit while you were joining.
  • Firewall/AV: Windows Firewall blocked the P2P connection.
  • NAT: Your router prevented the handshake.

Fixes (PC)

  1. Alt-Tab: Verify the game window is focused.
  2. Firewall Whitelist: Add reanimal.exe to allowed apps in Firewall.
  3. Steam Restart: Close Steam fully (Task Manager) and restart.

Fixes (Console)

  1. Manual Save: Host reloads the checkpoint.
  2. Test Internet: Consoles verify NAT type in Network Settings.
