Endings & Post-Game Guide

The Endings

REANIMAL features two known endings. The ending you receive depends on your completion of the Glitched Remains.

1. The Standard Ending (Normal)

• Condition: Complete Chapter 3 without collecting all Glitched Remains.
• Outcome: The siblings escape the island, but the final shot lingers on a shadow following the boat.
• Meaning: The cycle is broken physically, but the trauma remains.

2. The "Glitched Reality" Secret Ending

• Condition: Find and interact with all 15 Glitched Remains.
• Outcome: An extended post-credits scene plays. The camera pans back to the Lighthouse, revealing a shocking truth about the "Loop."
• Unlock: You do NOT need to replay the whole game. Once you have 15/15, simply replay the Final Chapter (Chapter 3) and beat the final boss again.

Post-Game Cleanup

Chapter Select

After beating the game once, "Chapter Select" becomes available in the Main Menu.

• Tracking: The menu shows your collectible count (Hats / Glitched Remains) for each chapter.
• Strategy: Use this to jump directly to chapters where you missed items.

The "Completionist" Checklist

To get the Platinum Trophy / 100% Achievements, allow this order:

1. Story Run: Play blindly for the experience. Don't worry about missed items.
2. Cleanup Run (Chapter Select):
   • Consult the Collectibles Guide to find missing Ghosts/Hats.
   • Grab specific Chapter Achievements (e.g., "Feed the Pig" in Chapter 2).
3. Secret Ending Run: Replay the finale with 100% collectibles.
4. Hardcore Run (Optional): If you are aiming for the "No Death" achievement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does REANIMAL have New Game Plus? A: No. But your collectibles carry over permanently on your save file.

Q: If I missed a hat in Chapter 1, can I go back? A: Yes, use Chapter Select. You don't need to finish the chapter after picking up the item; the game saves collectibles instantly.

Q: Can I get the Secret Ending in Co-op? A: Yes, as long as the host save file has 15/15 remains.
